Yo Sean man.

I'm a complete donkey as to how anything involving any kind of Elo works. Can you explain why these rankings really don't seem to like Indiana? Is it because their chances to move up have been limited by missing every good team in the Big Ten? It it just an artifact of how low they started?

Hey! So Indiana is still being held back slightly by it's starting point, although the influence of it's beginning rating lessens each week. Change in Elo after a game is also impacted by strength of opponent. Indiana ranks 103rd in strength of schedule (per ESPN FPI), so a win against a bad opponent won't help your rating nearly as much as an equally convincing win over a better opponent. It's like how a college basketball team in a bad conference could go 28-3, make the NCAA tournament by winning their conference, yet still get a 14 seed and get blown out. Not quite to that extreme, but you get my point.

Should Indiana win out, I would expect them to be in the top-10, especially since that would mean beating Ohio State
